{how to be parisian wherever you are}

To be read out loud every night before going to bed. Even when inebriated.
  • Find "your" perfume before you turn thirty. Wear it for the next thirty years
  • Wear a black bra under your white blouse, like two notes
  • Go to the theater, to museums, and to concerts as often as possible: it gives you a healthy glow
  • Make it look easy. Everything you do should seem effortless and graceful
  • NOT too much makeup, too many colors, too many accessories…
  • Take a deep breath and keep it simple
  • Your look should always have one thing left undone. The devil is in the details
  • Cut your own hair or ask your sister to do it for you
  • Always be fuckable: when standing in line at the bakery on a Sunday morning, buying champagne in the middle of the night, or even picking the kids up from school. You never know

Virtues of the signature item
You don't have to spend a decades's worth of salary on your wardrobe… All you need is one signature item: the one you wear when you need to feel strong. Your signature item is a piece that looks amazing on you.

All you need to know about hair
  • You keep the color Mother Nature chose for you
  • There's no point in accessorizing your hair: avoid hair clips or headbands if you're over eighteen, but also hair jewelry or any other kind of decorative accessory
  • Her hair style is never "immaculate" and it's rare that she goes for a blowout

Faux Pas (DONT'S)
  • Overplucking your eyebrows
  • Overdoing it on the teeth whitening
  • Trying too hard with your appearance. Wearing too much makeup

How to make him think you have a lover
  • Have flowers delivered to yourself and then thank your boyfriend for the thoughtful gesture
  • Save your sister's number under the name Paul H
  • Shower frequently. Spend extra time in the bathroom

Cool or cold?
  • When invited to parties, be the last to arrive. Sip your champagne, but never get too drunk
  • Always look as if you are gazing at the sunset. Even during rush hour in the Métro. Even when picking up frozen pizza from the supermarket

Parisian snobbisms
  • Leave a party when it's in full swing. (Even your own)

Save your skin
  • Skin should look natural
  • Beauty in France is epidermal -nobody cares that much about makeup, it's what's underneath that matters… In Paris, the rules are clear: you anticipate, you prepare for the future, but you never totally correct

The best version of yourself
  • In the mind, a single rule outweighs all others: enjoy the face you have today. It's the one you'll wish you have ten years from now

Ancestral tips
  • In the baby section at the drugstore you can find sweet almond oil for next to nothing. Once you start using it, you'll never look back: it's a great hand and body moisturizer

En "How to be parisian wherever you are", estoy segura encontrarás buenas puntadas, adoptarás algunos consejos de estilo, retomarás buenos hábitos, pasarás un rato agradable y hasta tendrás nuevas recetas de cocina para sorprender a tu pareja o amigos, como me dijo mi amiga, Paola, es como platicar con tu mejor amiga y también pude hacer una foto con el libro para mi Instagram. #misióncumplida #happyface
